The International Holocaust Memorial Day Trust produced the above The 10 Stages of Genocide to educate the public about how genocides do not just happen overnight. Rather, they are built upon years upon years of racism and discrimination, which creates the cultural environment where most of a country's population, even if they do not support the genocide, are either too afraid to speak up, or worse, just sit on the fence and/or look the other way.
With the above Stages, it is key to remember, as it says in the bottom-right, that:
"These stages may occur simultaneously or in a different order"
So even if a genocide does not look like it would happen, since you may think it's only proceeded to the early stages, other stages may well follow much sooner than thought, hence, highlighting how critical it is to fight hard against all stages.
What happened to Jewish people in the holocaust (a genocide) has happened to other peoples since then (Rwanda genocide, Bosnian Genocide) and to people now (Gaza Genocide, Sudan (RSF) Genocide), and could well happen to Jewish people again, given the rise of the Far-Right in America and Europe, and given that some are wrongly blaming all Jewish people for Israel's (alleged) genocide in Gaza. Moreover, it could happen to any minority group the world over, especially since many groups, especially in America and Europe are currently being subjected to Discrimination (Stage 3) and Dehumanisation (Stage 4), thus, making it a fight for all decent people.
